Brazil nuts, similar to acai berries can only be found in the amazon forest. They’re an incredibly dense nut, supercharged with nutritional benefits.

They’re packed with a host of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Even though they’re high in fat, it’s the good kind (mono-unsatured) which actually reduces cholesterol. But they’re full of calories, that’s the bad news. Right?

If you’re familiar with this site you’ll know I really don’t believe in counting calories – it’s been a pretty simple shift in my mindset. If I eat mostly high quality food, I won’t have room for low quality food. It seems way to simple but it’s been far more effective for weight loss than anything else I’ve tried and it starts with a Green Smoothie in the morning.

Anyhoo, back to brazil (I wish!) nuts. Similar to cashews, brazil nuts add creaminess, which makes them an awesome addition to Green Smoothies.
