The Great Green Smoothie Challenge
We’re almost two weeks into our first ever Green Smoothie Challenge and the feedback has been terrific! We’ve gotten just over 1,300 people signed up in our Facebook group. We’re kickin’ bad habits to the curb and implementing new healthy habits.
To say the response has been awesome would be an understatement!
If you’re in the group, you know that each week we send out a shopping list with recipes. That shopping list contains ingredients for five smoothies. The other two days we encourage everyone to make up their own smoothies, re-use recipes that they really liked or find a smoothie from GS 4 Beauty to make.
A whole lotta Beets
One of the two smoothies that I make is going to be this beautiful beet smoothie. I just love the color of beets, they’ve got that velvety purple tone, which I think just looks delish. Expect a LOT of beet smoothie recipes over the next few weeks because once I get started on an ingredient I can hardly stop myself. And while Beets technically aren’t green, they’ve got enough going on for them, to make me to look the other way.
Beet and Apple Green Smoothie Ingredients
1 Small Beet Diced
2 Stalks of Celery
2 Tbsp of Lemon Juice
1 – 1 1/2 cups of water depending on desired consistency
2 or 3 ice cubes
Blend it all up!
Beets have never been my absolute fav vegetable but they’ve been growing on me recently. Have you ever had roasted jewelled vegetables? I cook those all the time. I think that’s what got me started on beets.
Once I started drinking green smoothies and learning about health and wellness in general I realized how rawkin’ beets are. They provide an immediate boost of energy, are awesome for cleanses and contain plenty of nutrients. As with pretty well every other vegetable, incorporating them into a green smoothie is an excellent way to sneak them into your diet.
